Joe has waited until the last minute to write a school report on Nelson Mandela.  He convinces his sister, Izzy, to time-travel with him to South Africa in the 1970s, so that he can interview Mandela, and write the Best Report Ever.

Being still somewhat new to time-travel, they mess it up a bit and end up in a wild game preserve full of bloodthirsty animals.

Will the twins survive the circle of life there, and will Joe be able to finish his report?   What else will they discover in South Africa that’s even more dangerous than wild animals?

“The Magic March” is an adventure story that also celebrates human differences, and the power of children to make an impact in the world.

Christie Sever (Author)

Christie Sever lives with her husband in a leafy green suburb of Chicago. Her bachelor degree from the University of Notre Dame is in Accounting, and her MBA is from Northwestern University. She worked for many years as a CPA. In addition to raising her own three rascals to become responsible tax-paying adults, she coached hundreds of pre-teens and teens for competition in a Public Speaking club that she founded. She has written many straight news and feature articles for local publications and the Chicago Tribune. Besides kids and writing, she enjoys running her business, Speaker’s Edge, a public speaking and presentation skills workshop, and travelling around the world. Meeting foreign children in their homelands through her travels has inspired this book series. Whenever she globe-hops, she mentally packs her protagonists with her, as they have multiple problems to resolve and many historical times and countries to visit. “Children of the World Books” highlight the culture and history of many different countries in the world. The first book in the series, “Sound the Warning,” follows the adventures of Izzy and Joe Scout as they time-travel to 18th-century Ireland. The second book, “The Magic March,” finds the Scouts time-traveling to South Africa during the apartheid years. Book 3, “Easter Eggs in the Mud,” finds the twins trying to solve the mystery of what happened to siblings who were separated during World War II in Warsaw. Book 4, “The Search for Ming” sends the adventuresome twins to two ancient Chinese dynasties. Soon to be published Book 5 explores what happened to the Inca civilization in Peru.
